Kisan Credit Card - KCC


The KCC (i.e. Kisan Credit Card) is a credit scheme, which was announced in the budget speech of 1998-99 to fulfil the financial requirements of the farmers at various stages of farming through institutional credit. This model scheme was prepared by the NAtional Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), on the recommendations of R.V. Gupta Comittee.

The KCC scheme is being implemented by the all Co-operative banks, Regional Rural banks and Public Sector banks throughout the country. KCC credit holder farmers are covered under personal accident insurance up to 50,000/- for death and permanent disability, and up to 25,000/- for other risks. KCC offering credit to the farmers in two types:-
(a). Cash Credit.
(b). Term Credit.
